I found out about ClassPass years ago and thought it was perfect for travelers because you can use it to work out anywhere ClassPass is available, all for one monthly fee.
I ended up using it once in North Carolina while traveling, and to be honest, I realized I don’t really work out while traveling. Since then, however, it’s become a staple in my household for everything from fitness to beauty.
Here is my ClassPass review, plus bonus credits if you decide to sign up. Let’s get into it!
What is ClassPass and how does it work?

ClassPass is like having the ultimate health and fitness membership. You pay for credits monthly, and you redeem those credits for services at different participating local businesses. You can book your classes online through their website or on the app.
Instead of paying for a different membership for every pilates studio, HIIT class, yoga class, or dance lesson you take, you pay one fee, and choose how to spend your credits accordingly.
They also don’t just have fitness lessons. They have a ton of health and beauty offerings, too, from facials to blowouts. I’ve redeemed my credits for a $50 blowout before a big event, or a mani/pedi.
How much does ClassPass cost?

ClassPass has monthly packages with varying credit allocations. Any unused credits at the end of the month roll over to the next month (up to a certain number for each package). Currently, options include:
- $19/month for 8 credits
- $35/month for 15 credits
- $69/month for 33 credits
- $89/month for 43 credits
- $109/month for 53 credits
- $179/moth for 90 credits
- $249/month for 125 credits

Is it cheaper to book through ClassPass?

Aside from the health and wellness offerings, the most expensive (credit heavy) classes are the pilates reformer. Those average around 12 credits per workout. Otherwise, I typically use 4-6 credits per workout class. My least credits per class is Zumba at YouFit Gyms, just 1-2 credits.
I’ve used 21 credits for a basic blowout and 44 credits for a hydrafacial. I think it absolutely comes out cheaper with ClassPass, especially given the monthly memberships of some of these gyms, which can start at $100+/month. You can access the same classes for a fraction of the price.

What’s the catch?

The catch is that gyms only open a set number of ClassPass spots and might have priority for their regular members, so if it’s a high in demand class you need to be quick about booking it or spots get sold out. Bookings only open on ClassPass one week ahead of time so you can’t schedule a full month out.
If you miss a class, you’re charged a missed class fee, which can be $12+ dollars and you forfeit your credits.
You cannot cancel a class within 12 hours of it starting, otherwise you’re charged a late cancellation fee of $10, but at least in that case you get your credits back.
If you run out of credits before the month if up and your credits are set to renew, you can purchase additional credits (this works best if you only need like 2 more to enter a class, for example) or you can upgrade your plan and choose to have the upgrade start that same day, moving your monthly bill to that date instead of waiting for the plan to renew.
Is ClassPass Actually Worth It?

I exclusively have ClassPass as my gym membership. I cannot commit to a single type of workout and like the variety to try a bar class, weightlifting class, Zumba class, pilates class, yoga class, and kickboxing class all in the same week, all at different places, and all for one price.
Interested in trying it out for free? You get a one-month free trial, which normally comes with 10 free workouts but when you sign up through my link you get 5 bonus workouts.
